Be honest. You just fell in love. Just look at that face. I think it would be impossible not to fall in love. But then again, I suppose I’m a little biased. He is my baby after all.
Nike had an interesting start in life. He was originally a stray puppy. He was then adopted by a very young couple (17- and 18-years-old), who had good intentions, but unfortunately didn’t realize the responsibility they were taking on. After several weeks, a nice family took him in and made it their mission to find him a good home. And then, serendipitously, he and I met. I honestly didn’t believe in love at first sight until I met Nike.
But I just couldn’t deny the multiple signs of fate that occurred over that first weekend. The way we met in itself seemed like fate. If timing had been off, even just by several moments – we may never have crossed paths. And then there was the CBS Sunday Morning special feature: Life, Love, And Four Paws. It was undeniable. The universe kept sending me signs: Nike and I were meant to be.

Emily, I love your blog! It’s so nice to see your
writing. So glad you and Nike are a team.
